Binds with a high affinity to fibrinogen, inhibits fibrin polymerization, modifies the mechanical properties of fibrin clots and can dissociate non-stabilized fibrin gels.

Pefabloc FG can be added to fibrinogen containing reaction mixtures to inhibit disturbing fibrin-related turbidity, gel formation and fibrin deposition in diagnostic and preparative procedures (e. g. measurement of thrombin generation in plasma). Pefabloc FG can also be used to inhibit fibrin formation during purification and processing of clotting factors and other plasma proteins.
