Prepared from fresh frozen rat tails.

Collagen is a the major insoluble fibrous protein in the extracellular matrix. Collagen type I being the most abundant in the human body. It is a heterotrimer consisting of three coiled subunits; two alpha1(I) chains and one alpha2(I) chain arranged in a right handed triple helix confirmation.

Supplied as a sterile liquid. Suitable for platelet aggregation studies as well as cell culture research with 6-10 ug/cm2 coverage.

Buffer Composition = 20 mM Acetic Acid / pH 3.2

Molecular Weight =  ~ 400,000 daltons
