Collagen is a major insoluble fibrous protein in the extracellular matrix. Collagen Type 1 being the most abundant in the human body. It is a heterotrimer consisting of three coiled subunits; two alpha1(I) chains and one alpha2(I) chain arranged in a right handed triple helix confirmation.

Horse Collagen Type 1 has > 95% sequence homology to Human Collagen Type 1.

Supplied as a White Fibrillar Suspension.

Buffer Composition = Isotonic Glucose Solution pH 2.7

Concentration = 1 mg/ml

Volume = 1 ml (at 1 ug/ml ~1000 tests)

Molecular Weight = ~ 400.000 daltons
